My most memorable moment this year at MMS would be when we played SMS in the capital classics championship in the number 1 bracket and we were down by 1 point with 15 seconds left before the game was over and i brought the ball up the court and i crossed over and jumped up and shot a short mid range jumper from the free throw line and i made it and we were winning by one point with 10 seconds left and SMS through a long deep pass and it went out of bounds and it was our ball with only 2 seconds left and we won the game 34-35 that game was the best game i have ever played. i also won the MVP trophy.

NATURAL DISASTERS STRIKE

This year 2014 there was a chemical spill that leaked into the water supply in Charleston west Virginia it contaminated the water supply January 9 ,2014. About 7.500 gallons of chemical called MCHM leaked out of a small hole in the steel tank . This tank belonged to the freedom industries. In 1919 a massive explosion spill caused major damage to the Boston town. The molasses flood was very similar because of the the both caused problems for the environment.

The first sign of trouble what a strange smell coming from sinks and showers. MCHM is used in processing coal. West Virginia officials quickly ordered a water use ban across the affected areas.
The first sign of the molasses flood of 1919 was the sound of the massive tank going rat rat tat tat then boom sounds of screws flying everywhere this flood killed 21 people in Boston on this day. cleaning up this mess was awfulweeks after the accident you could still smell the molasses in the air.

In west Virginia there are underground chemicals storage  regulations  for above ground storage are less strict.  little is known about the effects of MCHM on the human body. Many people consider that the federal law on chemical safety  which is 37 years old is dangerously outdated.Bringing in a huge storage tank filled with molasses was a great danger for the environment at times people would become nervous for the safety of the town because of the sounds and creaks the tank would make during the day.

sharks

Extinction of sharks
These animals may be scary, ferocious beasts but they still need love and help so the can keep their population alive and everyone can help us save the great beautiful amazing sharks. Lets all get together and save one of the most oldest, beloved and beautiful creatures in the sea.

Sharks are being slaughtered and eaten only for their fins . They cut the fins off of the sharks and sometimes the leave the wounded shark in the ocean. Without its fin sharks sink to the bottom of the ocean they sit there until they die of starvation.

The creature that is killing these magnificent creatures they don’t have sharp teeth or strangling tentacles. This creature doesn’t even live in the sea. The creature killing the sharks is the human race. Humans have been killing sharks for thousands of years. Now all of the shark killings are beginning to add up the shark population is having a major decrease. in the 1800’s Americans relied on oil from the sharks liver to waterproof their boats. Native Americans prized the the teeth of sharks (bull, tiger sharks) When the Chinese wealth increased the demand of shark fin soup has increased.

Sharks are some of the earths oldest creatures they were know to be around when dinosaurs like the T-rex (tyrannosaurus rex) were roaring over the great plains. Killing this sharks will cause an economic crisis. This will happen because if the shark population is decreased then the sharks prey will grow larger, and if the sharks prey increases then the preys food will decrease in population. An example is the bull shark dies then the cownose ray population will increase cownose rays eat scallops along the North Carolina Coast, and then the scallops are all gone so most of the people and the fisherman that need/live their lives and jobs depend on them they will be out of luck.

There is still hope to save the sharks because the demand of shark fin soup is decreasing in china. This due to all of the protest and rallies they are having in the world. Even celebrities are beginning to help out NBA retired superstar Yao Ming who is a great athlete he’s 7ft 2 inches tall and a great player. Also famous movie star Jackie chan a chinese male are helping by giving speeches at the rallies and giving the group money to help save these beautiful creatures of the sea. Maybe with all the help from around the world we can make a change and save the beautiful creatures of the deep blue see.
